The Urban exudes quality and the in-built lights are powerful and well-designed. The battery slots in and out of the frame with ease using a simple key action and the battery has lights on it as well as the charger, indicating when the battery is full. This information could also be gathered from the digital display which was very simple, uncomplicated and easy to read.

Turn those pedals and the motor quickly assists you up that first slope with ease. It’s intuitive and simple to ride, and after effortlessly gliding up hills in turbo mode, you later realise you can cycle in an even easier gear up the hills and it became even more effortless! The Urban might not beat a top racing bike, but it’s a far more relaxed ride and you’ve probably not even broken into a sweat by the end.

Build quality and design of the Haibike xDuro Urban are spot-on, and combine the Shimano Deore XT gearing (10-speed), an alloy frame, fast rolling Shimano SLX wheel hubs, Schwalbe Marathon Supreme tyres (fast rolling and puncture-resistant), Shimano hydraulic disk brakes, and that ever-so smart internal cable routing ensuring consistently clean lines and a business-class appearance, and you’ve ended up with something special (and at only 18.6kg too). An Urban mover indeed.
