The developing Peters Village on the River Medway (part of Bellway Homes' Portland Gardens development scheme) can proudly be seen to encourage cycling along this riverside stretch with big hoardings saying as much. It's great to see new developments being planned in this way, and if the UK government can get more cycle paths between existing towns and villages, the day will come when we're all (electric?) cyclists once more.

On my commute into the Electric Bikes Kent showroom, I ride through a brand-new village that's starting to take shape. Peters Village barely consists of a few houses and basic infrastructure as of writing in August 2016, but this new housing site already boasts Medway's third bridge, as well as plenty of cycle lanes and riverside pathways. The bridge connects Peters Village with Snodland and the A228 leading to the M2 and M20 and the National Motorway network. Ebbsfleet International Station will be just 11 miles from Peters Village, and considering you can cycle that distance in little over half an hour...
